Make Time for Play
My dear friend and mentor, Jessie, is an art director in Chicago, and we talk almost daily. (Hi, Jess! 💜) Something she said to me recently has really stuck in my head:
“Play, Jenny! Not all art needs to be seen, but all art needs to be created. Jenny, YOUR art needs to be seen! Just play!”
I may wake up with five things on my mind that I really want to paint, and I can do that. But I also like to spend time simply playing. That’s when I am truly the happiest.
This one won’t end up for sale in my gallery or on my Instagram, but the joy it gave me while I was making it is what art is all about.
Take time to play today!
