Is It Friday Yet? 🤍😂
Man, this week flew by! I’m so ready for the weekend.
Today ended up being a pretty good day, even though I didn’t accomplish a whole lot. I spent most of it on the phone with Gary’s sister, Jessica. I think we talked off and on for practically the entire day. 😂
She’s got a six-month-old and a one-and-a-half-year-old, so she has her hands FULL. They’re spaced almost exactly like Gage and Harper were, and I remember those days all too well. Sometimes just having another adult to talk to makes those long days at home go a little faster. We chat while we’re doing things around the house, and I always enjoy it. We’ve always been pretty close, and I love her to pieces.
Then Regina called to see if I was gonna be home tomorrow. She’s off work and wanted to drive up so I could show her how to do her first GLP-1 shot, so we decided to turn it into a little girls’ day! Gary has to work, so we’re gonna do some shopping, grab some lunch and hang out until he gets home.
I miss her! We don’t get to see each other as much since she got remarried, but I completely understand. Everybody goes through that honeymoon phase, and between being a newlywed and working so much, she’s pretty busy these days.
She’s excited about starting her shot, and I think it’s going to be a good thing for her. It’s so easy to put on weight when you’re in a new relationship and having fun going out to eat all the time. I’ve told her that doing the shot really isn’t a big deal, but I completely understand wanting somebody there to show you how the first time. And I certainly don’t mind an excuse to spend the day together!
Our neighbor also had some kind of water leak today, and GOOD GRIEF. There were plumbers everywhere, water going all over the place and half our yards ended up flooded. I felt terrible for him. They just moved into that house, too. That’s the thing about homeownership. It’s ALWAYS something. Bless their hearts.
I’m really looking forward to the next few days. After tomorrow, Gary is off for SIX DAYS! I absolutely love having him home. We always get so much done together, and naturally, I’ve already got a nice little list waiting for him. Lucky man. 😂
Harper has a slumber party Saturday night, and Gage is staying with a friend, so we’re actually going to have the house to ourselves. That almost NEVER happens!
Maybe we’ll get dressed up and go out for a nice dinner. I’ve been wanting to try that new steakhouse in town, but it’s hard to justify spending steakhouse money when one of your children doesn’t even like steak. Harper would be thrilled. Gage, not so much. That’s definitely more of a Gary-and-me kind of place.
I sure wish we could go to the beach this weekend, too. The weather has been so nice lately, but apparently we’re supposed to have storms. We may end up going to the movies or just playing everything by ear. Honestly, I’m just happy we’re all going to have a little downtime.
We watched the Big Brother finale tonight, and I won’t spoil a single thing because my sister-in-law has already threatened me. 😂 She can’t watch it until tomorrow morning and specifically told me not to text her or say ANYTHING.
But Y’ALL. WHAT A SEASON! One of the best in years. It felt like old-school Big Brother, and I honestly would’ve been happy with whoever won. So, so good!
Anyway, I’m calling it a night. I’m pretty tired, but today was a good day, and I’ve got a lot to look forward to. A girls’ day tomorrow, a little time alone with my husband this weekend and SIX WHOLE DAYS of having him home. Doesn’t get much better than that.
I hope everybody has a wonderful, safe weekend. Count your blessings! 🤍
